offloading backups to multinode standby configuration

Forum|alt.badge.img+7

Hello

We have a cluster with 1 primary and 3 secondary servers, dump backup works from everyone but log backups only work on the primary. What is the best practice for this situation?

And if you can backup the logs only from the primary how will it work when the primary failovers?

Thanks for the great question!

In the case of a fail over it is assumed these logs have been replicated but we will attempt to start the chain again and the next job that runs will be a full.

Running the log backup off the primary is standard and running the full from a secondary to reduce load.
