We recently had a scare when Commvault upgraded us to a new feature that we “Thought” our Media Agent couldn’t handle.  Thankfully we were wrong but we want to disable auto updates.  The ticket I had open they said to do the below.  I can not find this option at all.  When I do searches it talks about disabling it in the schedules but I am not seeing the updates in the commcell schedule either.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Steps:

  1. Open the CommCell Console.
  2. Navigate to: Control Panel > Additional Settings.
  3. Add a new setting:
    • Name:DisableAutomaticPushInstall
    • Category/Path:CommServDB.GxGlobalParam
    • Type: Integer
    • Value:1

Hi Heath, you’re right. There is no additional settings in control panel.

Can you try right clicking at Commcell level and select properties?

Under ‘Commcell Properties’, there is a tab ‘Additional settings’. Add and then you can use lookup too.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi Heath,

You may need to add this setting explicitly if search is not yielding anything.

Follow step 1 and 2. Then add new and Copy paste the name DisableAutomaticPushInstall with the category listed and integer and value added.

If you are still having issue, please share a screenshot of the issue that you are facing when trying to add. I can help.

Thanks @Neha but the problem starts before that.  I go into Control Panel but I have no additional settings.  Below is what my control panel section looks like.  Everything I see when I do a google search doesn’t look like this.  I try searching for “additional settings” with no luck.  I am ready to kick my computer lol.

Are you disabling in Command Center, too?

Thanks,

If I recall correctly this settings related to the job schedule that is attached this this function underneath. The additional setting disables the function on a different level with the same outcome.
