Hi,

Is it supported, and if so recommeded, to use third party encrypted diskvolumes as Commvault Mount Paths in a DiskLibrary?

I’m not sure if it’s supported, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

If you want the data encrypted, encrypt it with Commvault.

Thanks,
Scott

I would worry about the performance penalty using 3rd party encryption. But I think its safer to use Commvault encryption at Scott mentioned. The keys live in the CommServe DB so you’re data is always with the keys should the worst happen.

Echoing what @Scott Moseman said, I would not recommend it….if it causes problems down the line, it’s tough to determine who is the cause and how to address.
