IntelliSnap Support for NetApp ASAr2

NetApp is currently selling the successor to the ASA (SAN Only), the ASAr2, at an attractive price. Basically, it is a system from the ONTAP family, like the FAS or AFF systems. Unfortunately, the API has changed considerably, and Commvault does not yet support the ASAr2 API. I’ve heard that integration is being worked on. Is there a timeline for this?
We have a few projects where Commvault (new customer) and NetApp would be a good combination.

For the ASA R2 support, we are currently targeting May in our innovation 11.42 release which will roll into our mainstream 11.44 release in June.

What is the status ?

Where is the blocking point ? On the Commvault side or on the NetApp side?

Reached out NetApp experts and they replied that this is on the Commvault side.

So we need to get a ETA or push to get this in the pipe for next updates.

@Laurent According to NetApp KB, it looks like they’re asking to check with Commvault Support. I assume Commvault is where the traffic is right now. I’ve submitted a support case late last year and it doesn’t look like they have an ETA yet.

Apologies, we actually raised this case back in July as we were in the early stages of setting up the ASA. Case 250619-726.

Are there plans to include support in 11.40 as well? Many customers tend to be conservative when it comes to Commvault release updates.
Another question would be, will SnapMirror active sync be supported?

Due to the significant changes required to add this support we currently do not plan to backport it. This effort is to add our existing supported features to include ASA R2, since we currently do not support SnapMirror active sync, that will not be added as part of this effort. If this is an ask, please reach out your Commvault account team to open a CMR for this specific feature.
