Hello! This morning I was all thumbs and dropped a tape. This caused the little pin inside to come loose and the tape was barely holding. I have to consider it dead now. Is there a way to flag the data inside to be recopied to another tape?

Thanks!

Please list the content of the tape from the console and take note of the job ID’s. Now check in the storage policy if these jobs are still in a copy on disk media. If they are you can select them to be copied again, quickest method is this one:

Hi @Christian Moisan

You can use the Media Refresh operation to copy the contents from the old tape to a new tape.

Let me know if you have any questions

Thanks, I ended up right clicking on the tape and selecting re-copy. This did the trick!

Digging up an old thread.

What if one already had removed a tape. Is there an option to force re-copy particular jobs?

I thought if auxiliary copy discover the difference in job count it will pick up not copied jobs (related to removed tape) to the replication queue. Re-copy is greyed-out unfortunately. I use global 2ndry copy.
