How endpoint licenses restrict user?

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hi,

I have the below question from customer:

Endpoint licensing is based on users and 1 user is limited to 5 devices. What happens if the user logs in to like 6 or 7 devices? What variation happens in licensing?

If a user is the owner of more than 5 devices, is still one endpoint license counted for this user? Is there any license over-usage alert to be generated or functional limitation in Commcell?

Hi Harwie,

I did some testing on this and presently a user who exceeds that 5 device limit will still only consume a single endpoint user license, however it should be noted that this is still violating the terms of the license and could be enforced in the future.

My suspicion is that if it were enforced, that user would then consume 1 endpoint user license per 5 devices.

Good morning.  In the situation that you describe, the same user will then get a 2nd license if exceeded.
