the source db has mssql native replication configured and it being replicated from one site to another
Can we backup this source db /destination replica via Commvault mssql agent while sql native replication running? Can those two operations co-exist and is there any limitation on this type of config?
You can back up the source Full backup. However, the issue is tlog backups. When a database is leveraging native replication (log shipping) running a tlog backup could break the LSN chain and cause an issue with replication, hence those databases are auto skipped. You can allow them to backup if desired, but it could interfere with replication
MSSQL does not allow backups of the destination (mirror) even native backups would fail with an error that is part of a mirror and cannot be backed up.
