What is the default retention when Commvault ask aws to take snapshot ?
I think that they’re deleted by commvault after a period but when ?

Ideally, If you’re taking the streaming backup on the AWS EC2 instance, the snapshot created at the time of the backup and deleted once the backup completed.
However, if you’re using the Intellisnap then retention depends purely on the storage policy (snap primary copy) configuration.
+15I`m not sure I`m following the correct path here to answer your question, but my understanding is that the retention policy is set at the storage policy level and so whatever storage policy you are using to snap, that is where you should check the retention policy. It could be days, days+cycles etc etc.
Commvault will indeed delete the snapshots based on your retention.
