Hello,

Do we know when Commvault will support 1-touch recovery for new RedHat versions like 8.7 ?

For virtualize me very long time is no support for newer Linux releases likethis:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS 8.0 with glibc 2.28.x: Virtualize Me is not supported

Is there a roud map for this, last year I heard it will be come in 2023E ?

regards Juergen

Correct:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023/expert/1479_announcements.html

  • The June 15, 2023 release, which is an LTS release, is named "Commvault Platform Release 2023E" (11.32).

Hi @Juergen ,

I can see that other customers are already using that version.

FYI, for an EFI booted server you need to create a Single Stage ISO which can be used to recover the server & we have documented it in our documentation.
https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/54016_1_touch_for_linux_single_stage_dvd.html

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/53904_recovery_1_touch_for_linux.html

Note: The ISO needs to be created only when attempting recovery, we can use any Linux Machine connected to CS for Generating ISO if the source server is down.

Best Regards,

Sebastien

Hello Team

I just received the same question for REDHAT 8.8 and the 1-touch support.

Do you know when it is planned to support it  ?

thanks

@XavierB

I didn’t find anything for RHEL 8.8, even though I don’t think there will be a huge difference between 8.7 and 8.8.

The best is to provide a feedback on that page below, Development will check and get back to you.

Hello @Sebastien Merluzzi

is there also support for virtualize me?

regards Juergen

Forum|alt.badge.img+14

HI @Juergen ,

I will check the CMR and ask the question to confirm.

Best Regards,

Sebastien Merluzzi

The CMR 397799 is now closed, Development will go for field certification for RHEL 8.8.

VME for RHEL 8.x is supported  FR 32 onwards.

If any issues are seen, you can log a case and share the logs so we can review and escalate to Development if needed.

@Sebastien Merluzzi ,

I got just the information from CV support team, that virtualize me Linux with EFI boot not supported.https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/expert/virtualize_me_for_linux_prerequisites.html

I don’t saw any announcement about, have you any doc about.

It is also in the Commvault Dokumentation pointed that it is not supported.

Do Commvault changes on product, without inform their customers?

Juergen
