is there any way to auto delete or deactivate clients?
i can group them in smart groups based on specific criteria like owner AD group membership but don't no how to run automatic auctions on them.

I guess the answer to this would depend on the criteria you would use for this automatic deactivation. It may or may not be a good idea to do this automatically in some cases.
In other cases, depending on the criteria, it may be possible to schedule a workflow to accomplish your goal
