Getting below message while restoring deleted mailbox.  Metallic doesn’t create a mailbox? while doing the restore.

Mailbox [xxxxx] not found on O365 exchange and possibly deleted. Please make sure user mailbox is present or create one to restore data inplace.

No a mailbox is not created by Metallic on the O365 platform as far as I’m aware.

Does the user still exist? If so then you could see if an Undo-SoftDeletedMailbox can be performed via the Exchange Online PowerShell.

If the user is deleted, then the user needs to be restored in order to recover the mailbox.

In both situations you can perform the restore to this recovered mailbox.

Or create a new mailbox for the user and perform the restore to the newly created mailbox.
