One of our customer plans to use an external tool to perform the automatic modification of the root password for their Linux Media Agents. Is there any possible impact of the Commvault Services in those Linux Media Agents if the password is modified by the external tool?

Hi, thanks for your reply. But if I say to the customer that should not introduce any issue, he will tell me you must be sure. So, is there a way to be sure?

+19Enroll MA to a test VM running Linux and create a backup. Change root password and see if something breaks ;-) This shouldn't happen e.g. in our cases this can be done without impact.
We cannot do any tests as it is customer environment, and we have no access.
But we can still ask customer to do it -)
