We suddenly encountered low throughput & high DDB Lookup (~99%) for all backup job.

We have remove a obsolete Media Server this week.  We also deleted some Storage Policy & Aux copy with no sub-client associated with.

I would like to ask if anyone encountered similar situation?  is our DeDup database corrupted?  Please help.  Many thanks

Hi Kenneth,

Without a review of the environment it’s hard to say what has suddenly caused this - however removal of a media agent + deletion of storage policy and aux copies would not normally effect performance unless there is lots of data to age and so pruning could be occurring during backups which could have an effect on performance.

A ‘corrupt’ DDB would normally mean you would see DDB verification, restores or reconstructs running.

Is there anything else which has changed in the environment?

I’d suggest working through this article: http://kb.commvault.com/article/DD0004
