We are going to increase commvault  license capacity for limited period of time. We have permanent license of total 18 TB capacity out of which 4.5 TB is free. Expected new data backup size is approx. 30 TB.

1.Do we need to provide “commcellinfo.xml” file in order to get & apply additional license capacity?

2.Will new license application affect ongoing backups?

3.How can we get additional capacity for evaluation period, so that original license remain on the environment?

Hi @Tripathy,

  1. Yes, you need to apply a new license file to change capacity values and entitlements
  2. No, it will not impact currently running backups
  3. Your account/sales rep can provide a license file with temporary allocation of capacity or license counts should the need warrant it
