Do I have to upgrade the commcell from sp16 to sp23, as well as the CommServe do I have to forcibly align the release on the Media Agents and all clients?

Good morning. It is not mandatory to update your CommCell environment to FR23. Were you told that this was required?

You are on a LTS (Long Term Support) release SP16 and that will be will be supported for 5 years (2024).

But if you do want to upgrade to potentially bring some new functionalities with new FRs or fix specific issues, I would recommend you take a look at this post that will provide a few considerations before upgrading it.

Yes, I have to perform the update to be able to use some new features that have been introduced, I would be inclined to upgrade to the F23 also because the F24 is not compatible with MySql server 2016 currently installed on the commserve.
Having to upgrade, the question was whether I should do it on the CommServe as well as on the media agents and clients anyway?
