Hello Team,

I have quick, maybe simple question.

In what cases sql commserve databases enter in Restoring mode?

Regards,

Piotr G.

Hi Piotr,

This could be due to recovery or replication activities.
Which could be caused by for example:

  • Commserve LiveSync
  • SQL internal replication

I assume this is a standby Commserve and not an active Commserve?
If this is the active Commserve then this should not be happening unless there is human interference.

In the case of CS Live Sync, is the failover SQL Server expected to always be in “Restoring...” state, or should it only be that way if an action (restore job) is running?

Thanks,
Scott

It should always be in restoring state.
