Hello,

Please, could you confirm steps about installation process:
1. Comcell Browser->Client Computers->New Client (put Client Name Host Name)->Finish
2. I read in https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/1971_prerequisites_for_installations_using_commcell_console.html that
To install on new clients, you must have Install Client permissions at the CommCell level.
This means I go to Security->Commcell Users->choose already created user then Properties->Associated Entities->Add (add new client)->Ok
3. Tools->Add/Remove Software->Install Software

Best regards,
Elizabeta

Hi @elizabeta,

Yes the account you login to the CommCell Console with would need privileges to Add/Install Clients.

-Note you can enter Client Machine credentials for the installation, These would need permissions on the client to install software.

Here’s the documentation with the port requirements:
https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/1971_prerequisites_for_installations_using_commcell_console.html#o1975

Best Regards,

Hello,

I'm reading some documentation on the links https://support.bull.com/ols/product/storage/backup/calypso/release_9_0_0/books_online_1/english_us/deployment/install/my_sql_windows.htm and

I
have a question, do I have to select File system and File System Core or only check File System when installing the iData agent?

Best regards,
Elizabeta

Hello
@MichaelCapon ,

What is the recommendation for the firewall when installing the iData agent on the client from Commcell console, not to turn it on or turn it?

On the client itself, ports 8400-8410 and 8600-8620 are opened from the Commserve server to the client.

Best regards,
Elizabeta

Hello,

I started the installation of Windows File System iDataAgent via the Comcell console and there is an error:
“Error Code: [68:174]
Description: Failed to install File System Core Package, the credentials entered may not have permission to use WMI on remote machine. Please check WMI configuration and user credentials.”

Where could be the problem? On client side?
On client side we applied everything with https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/1971_prerequisites_for_installations_using_commcell_console.html

Do you need to enable anything on the Commserve server?

Best regards,
Elizabeta
