Hi All,

We are performing the Oracle out of place restore from recent online full backup. During the restore job, it trying to restore data from the another full which was happened a month before and failied.

We already raised a incident with Commvault and it is Development bucket.

I would like to know that anyone come across this kind of issue in your enviorment and any known solution available.

Thanks,

Mani

Typically when we see this it’s because RMAN either couldn’t find more recent data that was needed, or there was a read failure. RMAN will try to find an alternate path to the desired point in time in this case, by restoring older data backups and then trying to roll forward from there.

If this is what’s happening, the RMAN log should show the failure.

Are you restoring from primary or secondary copy?

As @Robert Horowski already asked are you restoring from primary or secondary? What is the media type? What platform/feature release and maintenance release are you running? Can you share error information?
