I am testing the Kubernetes backup with CV. I would like to know
whether we can manage/do the retention of local snapshots on cluster?
If we can do the retention, then what are the possible storage options for retention policy ?

I do not believe this capability exists right now. Sounds like something that we could do with the IntelliSnap framework but that is not implemented to K8s yet. I registered your interest for this.
