How to add new tape drive to existing Tape Library

Hello,

What is the correct procedure to add a new tape drive to an existing shared tape library?

If I go to the expert storage wizard and hit either detect or exhaustive detection, the new drive is configured as a new library. Never under the existing library.

Note that this is SAN library, partitioned, and in the same partition we added the new drive.

Regards,

Pedro

Customer had a wrong FC SAN zoning configuration. This was the issue.

Hi @PedroRocha

Thank you for reaching out.

The correct procedure is outlined in our documentation, although it seems you may have already followed these steps.

When doing the detection, please ensure all Controlling MediaAgents have been selected during the selection process in Expert Storage Configuration.

Once detected, expand the library you would expect the drive to appear and look for any available slots, if found Drag the Drive to the available slot, once done the drive should now appear in the correct library,

If you’re still having issues, I would recommend raising a support case to discuss exhaustive detection methods if required.

Thank you
