Dear Commvault and Oracle gurus,

have you ever experienced the following error regarding Oracle database backup in Commvault?

RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================

Good day @drPhil

CreateOraObject20: Job[1701111] thread[20791]: Setup Pipeline failed.

The error indicates that the oracle server is unable to connect to the media agent.

Please check if there is any firewall between the two servers, if yes then create a commvault network routes by following link → https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/7170_network_routes.html

Also verify the ports required to be open if a firewall is configured https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/7102_port_requirements_for_commvault.html

Additionally, review the cvd.log and cvfwd.log on the oracle server for the exact error around the timestamp 06/01/2023 11:01:14

Regards,

Hi @Gowri Shankar, thank you so much for your input. Our case has been resolved by migrating the server to new hardware since the migration had already been planned. Nevertheless, I consider your post valuable for the future in case a similar issue arises.
