Problem with browse virtual machines

Forum|alt.badge.img+11

Hello, We have backup server CommServe  Simpana version 11.28.68 on Windows Server 2022 Standard. We migrated recently backup server Commserve on new hardware using Hardware refresh method (we migrated from simpana version 11.20.85 to simpana version 11.28.68). We used CSrecovery tool and successfully restored and upgraded the database. Now, We have problem with Browse and Restore all virtual machine (Citrix XenServer ).

When we choose Browse and Restore Options dialog box-> Guest Files and Folders -> View Content

We get this messages on screen:
MsgId[0x0e000105][Browse failed due to error while mounting virtual machine: Client htm-mediaagent1 can not attach service in 10.16.18.56*ca-lma01*8400*8402. Please address communication issue between this two clients..]: [4] Args Pushed, [1] Args expected.

We used Ca-lma01  for File Recovery Enabler for Linux server, and Mediagent htm-mediaagent1.

Best regards,
Elizabeta

@elizabeta

Here the problem seems to be the network connection towards the FREL “ca-lma01” server.

Make sure the FREL server is reachable from Commserver and the Media agent. You can check CVD logs on Media agent and FREL server. Also, FBR.log on ca-lma01.
If you can confirm they are able to ping eachother, you can apply DIP to avoid any hostname conflicts;

Hello,

This problem has appeared just after the upgrade to simpana version 11.28.68.
Is option Live browse active in later simpana version?

We have used granular restore before upgrade.

Best regards,
Elizabeta

Hello,

Yes, you can perform live browse in the later version of CV version too!.

Is your REL also same version with Commserver and have you checked the network connectivity from “MA <=> FREL”?
