Transport error for the Vmware vm backup from the Azure Cloud Commvault Server

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

We have setup the Commvault Server in Azure cloud and tried to take the VM backup from the on premise .

But getting the error as “”Error Code: [91:449]
Description: Error opening     the disks for virtual machine [TestAPVP001]. Verify that the correct     transport mode is selected. See http://kb.commvault.com/article/63206 for additional information.
Source: TestBAKP001, Process: JobManager.

Vmware infra uses the Netapp as the storage for the Vmware data store .

Hi @Sudhi,

Is the VSA Proxy used local to the environment? - Could you check the vsbkp.log file for this Job and share any errors in there?

Best Regards,

Michael

Hi Michael ,

Thanks for th support ,

Attached the log file . I see the errors like CVMDiskInfo::Dispatch_VixDiskLib_Open() - VixDiskLib_Open failed Err=d You do not have access rights to this file .

Thanks @Sudhi,

From the log I can see connection on 902 was successful, but opening the Disk from ESX failed.

This is a generic error and we’ll need to check the “VixDiskLib.log" logfile on the VSA Proxy here also to see why the VDDK failed to read the disk using NBD (Network) transport. (It could be a connection timeout or failure)

I’d also suggest ensuring that the user account for the Vmware Instance has the correct permissions. - Ref: https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/permissions_for_custom_user_accounts_vmware.html

Best Regards,

Michael
