Hi All,

One of the customer configured the NAS Backup with NetApp SVM and enabled CIFS and NFS protocol under the same NAS client.

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/add_nas_file_server.html

He enabled the snap backup at Instance level on each protocol (CIFS/NFS). But whenever he creates user-defined sub-client under the specified protocol, the snap-backup was not enabled by default and need to enable by manually.

Would like to understand that whether it is a behavior by design or anything I need to do extra to automate it?

Hi Mani,

This is working as expected. The intellisnap option needs to be enabled on Client level first for it to be able to be used, then the option needs to be configured on each subclient which requires to be run with Intellisnap.

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/creating_subclient_for_network_share_intellisnap_backup_for_cifs_shares_01.html

Kind regards,

Suzanny Lloyd
