Rentention On Secondary Copies

Just to make sure. When does Commvault software start counting days for the purpose of expiring jobs on secondary copies? When backup jobs are immediately available on them?

Yes, when the jobs are available on the secondary copy then the retention days are getting counted. It will start following the retention which you have defined in the SP copy.

Hi

And, If you Select “inherit job retention from source copy”, does it mean that the jobs in the auxiliary copy get the same retention that the jobs in the primary copy?

In case the answer is afirmative, does it skip the basic or extended retention rules that are configured in the secondary copy Storage Policy ?

Thank you
