SharePoint online backup able to backup items that are in retention hold

Hi,

in the situation where a customer has a retention policy in SharePoint online to keep everything for 10 yrs.

and they have been using Commvault to backup SharePoint online.

When they move from using Commvault to Metallic, does the Metallic backup also capturing all the items that would have been deleted from SharePoint online but its still held under the O365 retention policy?

would this also be the same for Exchange online if the emails where deleted by a user but they still there due to the O365 retention policy?

As I understand your question, you are looking for confirmation of parity between Commvault Complete and Commvault Metallic.  The functionality between the on premises (Complete) and the SaaS service (Metallic) are the same. Metallic also offers unlimited retention of your backups which can be customized to meet your company’s data governance policies.

This holds true for all the O365 services.
