Hello all,

I have a, what I think is a pretty straight forward question, from one of my customers’ Security guys regarding Service Accounts and the storing of the passwords.

As an MSP we do not hold the Service Account credentials and they are entered over screenshares for SQL, Oracle etc, however, the question arose surrounding the storing of the Service Account passwords in the CSDB.

Are the passwords hashed when stored or encrypted in any way in the CSDB? And if required, are the Service Account passwords recoverable?

Thanks in advanced for any responses.

Hello @MSP1983

User and Service account information does get encrypted in the CSDB. In certain situations we can decrypt passwords if needed.

Thank you,

Collin
