Oracle restore; AFileIdList is empty, restore files not found in cache

Question

Hi Team,

Could anyone help me understand why i could be seeing this errors on an oracle restore job. Considering the backup i am restoring from is from 1st which is recent, and the data verification for the job in the storage policy shows successful. The mediaagent is ready and the storage mountpaths associated to the job are also ready...other files are getting restored on the same job which tells me its not a communication issue but these ones it seems are not found? so i’m not sure if the job will complete successfully. I’m looking for any ideas on what i can check on?

Hi Collin,Thanks for your response. Tried from the storage policy but still gave the same error. Had to raise a support case. Turns out the customer had been running concurrent backups from a different solution. So commvault was looking for datafiles backed up from the other solution. and not finding them, so we cant restore from any of those backups.

Hello @MOGFREYBased on the logs you are restoring from Copy0 which should be the primary copy. How are you performing the browse? From the Storage Policy Copy or from the Client’s Backup History?Could you try running the Browse from the specific Storage Policy Copy you want to restore from? It is possible the job has aged off of the Primary copy, resulting in this error.Thank you,Collin
