Agent-based backups are supported for any VM. 
 

Could you please suggest as VM how you want the configuration?

If the VM can be snapshotted at the Hypervisor then we should be able to take a VM based backup here.

Generally I would suggest to follow the Vendor’s (Cisco) recommended (supported) backup method as it’s likely you might need to use their tools to recover configurations.
