Hello all, we just installed our new LTO9 tapes library. We tried to make a Tape to Tape Copy from LTO6 (old library) to LTO9 (new library) but after the copy, the new LTO9 tape is marked as full with only 2,36TB of data. Is there a possibility to copy some LTO6 to one LTO9 ?

Hello @IST BIHR

Tape to Tape copy is at its best when moving data from the same tape copy to another as you wont hit the exact issue you have just hit.

I recommend creating a new copy in the Storage policy and Aux copying the data from the old to the new to get around this exact issue.

You should be able to mark the tape as Appendable.

For more info on Appendable media see the docs here as well - https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/9949_library_properties_overview.html#mark-media-appendable

Kind regards
