Dears,

I have a question,

In an organization, we plan to replace an MSL6480 (LTO8 tapes) with a new MSL6480 (LTO9 tapes) and decommission the old one once the new one is configured but the need the data on the old tapes.

My question is what I need to do to make the new library read data from LTO8 and LTO9 Tapes successfully?

Thanks for your support.

Please have a look here:

For the new tape library, it will be able to read the LTO8 tapes

Other option is to copy the jobs in LTO8 media to LTO9 media with auxiliary copy if you don’t want to keep the LTO8 media.
