Maintenance releases deployment

Forum|alt.badge.img+14

Hello,

Quick question about installing Maintenance releases.

is it necessary to deploy on all servers: Commserve MA etc ...
as well as the clients?

Thanks !

Hello @Bloopa

It is not “necessary” but it is strongly recommended. We recommend customers to try include the MR upgrade with their Monthly patching.

We also recommend a FR upgrade once a year to stay on the latest version and get access to all the new features.

If you are ever panning on raising a support case, we will require you to be close to the latest MR before we are able to move the ticket to Dev. With fixing your issues ASAP we recommend keeping them up-to-date so when/if something does break it is not a road block .

Kind regards
Albert Williams

Hi @Bloopa ,

As advise by my colleague, not necessary as such, but strongly advisable.

While you could have a mix of MR releases within your clients, it is better to have all MR versions aligned with the version deployed within the CS.

To extend all previous arguments. The maintenance releases also contain security fixes for both Commvault developed software and for the bundled opensource frameworks/tools who are embedded.
