Monitoring software (Zabbix) integration with HyperScale X nodes

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Customer having monitoring tool called Zabbix and using the same for Alerts and Monitoring on all their IT devices. So they want to include commvault Infra servers (CS, MA) and Hyperscale X in Zabbix monitoring and Zabbix agent needs to be installed on local system for the same.

Is Zabbix agent can be installed on HyperScale nodes? Is there any document available from Commvault end for the same?

Hello @Ramkumar

HS is considered “black box”. We control what packages can be installed on the system and distribute them through monthly OS updates.

As @Mike Struening  mentioned we do allow SNMP as well as normal Tenable, or other, vulnerability scans.

For something like Zabbix, if its a required package to install, you can escalate via a support ticket and our engineering can certify. Ideally, we should use the other methods described above.

Thank you,

@Ramkumar , are there options in Zabbix to utilize smtp alerts?

I believe by default the cli is unavailable for end users on hyperscale x, at least on the appliance, not to sure about ref architecture.. But maybe with help of support they can install the zabbix agent and provide the needed firewall adjustments on OS level?
