DNS Server Change

Hi Guys,

 

Our DNS servers are migrating from On prem to Azure and there will a change of IP and Hostname for the DNS servers. Our Commserve is linked to on prem DNS server. 

DO we need to make any changes in Commvault application level once we move to new DNS server or only changes would be required at OS end ?

Commvault doesn’t care, it just needs DNS to work properly.

It relies os the OS to deliver proper DNS resolving, so need to make any changes within the application. Personally I would consider keeping DNS servers close to your backup infrastructure because Commvault depends and relies on it and in case of a DR situation you want it to be fully operational.
