Ports between Command Center and CommServe

Hi,

Our CommServe has Command Center installed. If I install a second Command Center on an existing MediaAgent in a remote location, which ports are required between the remote Command Center component and the CommServe? Currently, only the minimum ports are opened on the MediaAgent and I want to know if I can use Command Center without the need for additional ports, for example without the need for ports 443 and 80. I visited https://documentation.commvault.com/11.26/essential/7102_port_requirements_for_commvault.html, but I don't see the specific requirements for target machine “CommServe” accessed from “server with Command Center (and browser) installed”.

Command Center needs to access webserver which would typically be behind a firewall - webserver uses IIS and provides a lot of the backend functions like authentication with the CommServe etc.

By default that should need port 80 and 81 from command center, but you can also route that traffic via a proxy using typical commvault network tunnels.

Can you elaborate a little on what you are trying to acomplish? You can simply access the Command Center from any server or desktop in your network via the URL configured for Command Center. It runs on the web server and there should be no need to install it on another server as you would with the Java based GUI.

Hi @Collin Harper, If I don't install Command Center in the remote site (behind firewalls), I need extra ports 443 and 80 opened, which are not opened now (to access the Command Center from a desktop with a browser). Due to all kinds of change management processes, opening of extra ports could take 6 to 8 weeks. By installing a Command Center in the remote site, I hope I don’t need to ask for these extra ports, but that the current ports (8400 to 8403) are sufficient. I hope this clarifies my question. Thank you.
