Hi Experts,
I was going through the document and came across data pipe and steams. wanted to understand whether data pipe and streams are same? or they are actually different.
If anyone can highlight what exactly it makes difference.

hello
What an excellent question!
Both refer to data being moved, but they serve slightly different roles
Data pipe is a more general and comprehensive concept. It represents the entire data transfer path between for example CommServe, MediaAgent, and storage device.
note : A data pipe can include one or more streams for parallel data transfer.
on the other hand, Streams is a lower-level concept. It refers to an individual data flow within a data pipe. streams allow for parallel transfer within the larger data pipe.
So overall Data pipe provide the broader framework for data transfer, while streams are the individual units of data flow that operate within those pipes.
So, whats the purpose of data pipes and streams?
Data pipes are used to establish the overall data transfer path, while streams are used to optimize the efficiency of data transfer within that path.
I hope that clears things up!
Apologies if my explanation wasn’t as clear as it could be
