We are a long term Commvault on-premise shop. We are starting to move some thing to Azure. So far we are backing those things up to our on-prem CV environment. For efficiency and time, I am looking to setup a few media agents and library in Azure to run and store the backups. I have reviewed the “Public Cloud guide for Microsoft Azure document, and based on it, I am planning to setup 2 media agents with a partitioned duplication database across them. For the Library it looks like Azure blob object storage is the way to go. I should be able to have both media agents access it.
Is this similar to what folks are doing? For our on-prem we were using local storage on the media agents, and the paths were shared with each other. This design will be a little easier to manage, but I am a little worried about the performance of blob storage vs storage local to the MA’s
I look forward to hearing from other folks with there Commvault setup and the cloud migration.

I’m not fully aware of your migration plan, but I would recommend considering the following points:
1- Add a Cloud Library - Regardless of the authentication method you choose, it’s crucial to set this up.
2- Install the VSA Role on Both Cloud MAs - This will be important for future requirements, so be sure to include this step.
3- For Multi-Region Migrations If you’re planning to migrate across multiple regions, it’s a good idea to deploy at least one media agent in each region.
4- Plan the Migration in Stages - Phased migration can help you manage the transition more smoothly.
