Restore guest file from linux vm fail.

Hey @Muhammad Abdullah ,

I’d suggest viewing the logs for the Job and checking for strings like “error”, “failed”, “unable” and then report back what you find.

There are several components involved here so there will be a few logs to check.

-You could also try restoring the file(s) to a Machine with Commvault Installed, Like the VSA, MA or FREL.

On the FREL can you run the below and note the value next to “nChatterFlag”:
cat /etc/CommVaultRegistry/Galaxy/Instance001/Session/.properties

-If the current nChatterFlag entry value is (1), it must be set to (0) 

If changed to 0 (Default), then restart the Commvault Services.

Another thing to check, is to ensure that the entries for “sCSCLIENTNAME” (CommServe Client Name) and “sCSHOSTNAME” (CommServe Host Name) are correct in the following files:

/etc/CommVaultRegistry/Galaxy/Instance001/CommServe/.properties

/etc/CommVaultRegistry/Galaxy/Instance001/iDataAgent/.properties

i have checked the files you advised.

nChatterFlag  is 0 

CSclisntname and host is correct. 

and i can ping ad telnet from both sides.

i have rebooted the FREL server and performed another restore and i get the same issue.
