Backup type question

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

Hello,

What happens if i pick only the log option when configuring full and incremental backups?

Thanks,

That setting is typically only valid for database agents. Not sure from the screenshot, but that looks like it is from the properties from a schedule policy. If you do not define the schedule policy to a specific agent then it will display all possible job type options and can be a little confusing as to what settings apply to the specific agent type you are trying to back up.

If you were applying that backup setting to a SQL server job and only selected the log and not data, then it would perform a trans log backup only.
