There isn’t a whole lot of control over the transition points. What I was able to do though is change the connector style to straight and then add points to it inside the xml. Knowing what points to use initially can be tricky. One trick I did notice, is changing the style to Entity Relation, move the transition around a little bit, and then switch to Straight,
points="279.0,121.0;408.0,127.0" sourceX="268" sourceY="49" status="0" style="straight" targetX="612" targetY="217"
You can see in the screenshot that I now have two points to move around.
Of course you could always add more if need be by manually adding another point in the xml.

That’s a great question! So essentially, you are looking to add more edit point to the shape to add more bends and twists? I’m not sure if you can add more because it’s only a line, and adding more could make it a shape (which could make this unreadable).
Let me ask internally, though if you can confirm my assumption, that would help!
