Does your organization have a mandatory password change policy and Commvault SQL accounts (sqladmin_cv and sqlexec_cv) are not in an exception? No worries. We have you covered.

We now have “Refresh Commserve Database Access Key” workflow  available in your Commserve and it can be scheduled to change passwords of these accounts.

Happy meeting your security/audit requirements.  Have fun.

Is there any documentation regarding the password strength from this workflow? Our security team wants me to prove it is of sufficient strength

In a CS Live Sync setup, this works for the Active CS.  Do we know if there’s a way to update the password for the Standby CS without doing a failover to make it Active?

Thanks,
Scott

I would need to look at it again, but I thought the Workflow did update the Standby CS.

Alternatively, you could possibly use DBMaintenance -refreshsqlcred to apply the encrypted password to the standby instance.

Worth noting, it’s not a very strong password that is being applied.
