Hi,

I install recently Hyperscale 1.5 Reference Architecture on my 3 HPE Server, but i discovered then version 2.1 exist on Hyperscale X. What is the difference between these 2 versions? This is the same version but more recent or 1.5 is used only for migrate appliance to reference achitecture?

Thank you for your help!

Hey @commvault11 !

Hyperscale X is a different architecture altogether.

I would suggest checking out this link below as the differences are quite numerous.  It’s not just a simple ‘newer version’.  The underlying architecture is totally different.

If you have any specific questions, post them here and I’ll get answers for you :nerd:

Hi @Mike Struening

We have acquired Commvault Complete™️ Backup & Recovery with Commvault HyperScale Software with  Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s  DL 380 storage. (Node Type N12)  What version of Hyperscale Reference Architecture is best to take if we don't want to use the cloud, but use secondary site to replication data by the compression and deduplication. Version 1.5 or 2.1 and do you have a link below as the difference with these 2 versions. Thank you very much for your help!

I don’t have a feature per feature document, though if you check our docs, you can see what one has vs. the other:

HSX:

https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=132491_1.htm

HS 1.5:

https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=133025.htm

The main difference is that 1.5 uses Gluster as its underlying structure and HSX uses Hedvig, though there are more features as well.

I would suggest reaching out to your Account Rep who can best guide you (I’ve taken the liberty to reach out to them on your behalf).
