Hello @arik

You can log into the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and edit/create events and alerts but it is not recommended to do this without the direct advice from support or Dev.

What are you trying to track specifically and i might be able to provide some advice on where to find it in the GUI? There are a number of Commserv health related alerts and events that are tracked by default.

Kind regards
Albert Williams

Thank you for the answer.

I did not think to create events from the ssms.

I wanted to track % used by the transaction logs and some general db health checks

Hi Arik,

Commvault has its own database maintenance utility you can look to leverage which includes running a CHECKDB and other operations.

You can find out more about it here:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/performing_commserve_database_maintenance_using_dbmaintenance_utility.html

I believe you could also look at using the custom reporting functionality to pull back this information from SQL Server:

Regards,

David Dwyer
