Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has encountered this issue.   I am getting NDMP Netapp Intellisnap backup failure.

The problem is the backup keeps using the wrong Media Agent which is not even defined in the Array management definition of Remote MA for the Netapp arrap in question. In fact the remote MA definition is blank.   I tried to manually define the remote MA using the correct MA but it keeps using the wrong MA. Here is an excerpt of CVMA log

5948  224   08/29 18:20:20 ######## CVMMSnapAPI::getControlHostInfo() - Got client name [MA1]
5948  224   08/29 18:20:20 ######## NAArrayInfoCache::AddArrayInfo() - Added [Netapparray] to the cache.
5948  224   08/29 18:20:20 87026484 CvNetAppSnapBase::getArrayInfo(632) - Successfully added array[Netapparray] to the cache. ControlHost[123]
5948  224   08/29 18:20:20 87026484 CvNetAppSnapBase::addSeparator(227) - =========================================================================
5948  224   08/29 18:20:20 87026484 CvNetAppArrayOps::runArrayOp(222) - Found RemoteMA [wrong MA not defined in the array] for array [Netapparray]

is there any other place where the remote MA is defined.  I can only think it in the array management. Perhaps reg keys.    Any SQL query in the Commserve DB I can initiate to check whats going on?

Can you check:

  • in the data path of the storage policy or plan snap copy is this wrong MA defined there?
  • in the NAS/NDMP client and subclient level is this wrong MA defined as access node?

datapath is correctly pointing to the right MA

in the NDMP properties the right MA is also defined

not so sure of this subclient level definition.  can you elaborate where it is? the closest thing I can think of this is the associated array in the “Intellisnap Operations tab” and also proxy MA . Proxy MA is nothing is selected while the former has the correct array

Hi @mach123 It would be good to raise a case, we would need to check the CSDB to investigate this behavior.

Best,
