Hi All,

In our environment, the commvault backup data to disk storage then duplicate to tape, can we delete/purge specific backup data on disk storage only?

Hi @Jacky BW ,

Yes deleting a specific backup job from a storage policy copy is possible.

As details mentioned on your query, I believe the Primary copy is on Disk and the Secondary copy is on Tape.

From Primary copy (Disk copy), you can check the job history and then select the job/right click on the job and delete the particular backup.

Refer: Deleting a Job

NOTE: 1. The job once deleted, can not be retrieved so please ensure you are deleting the correct job and also confirm if the job is copied/duplicated on the Tape (Secondary copy).

  1. Note that all dependent jobs will be automatically aged when a full job is selected for deletion.

Hope this helps.
