We are currently testing Intellisnap in our environment with Hitachi. We can create snapshots and communicate with the array just fine the issue occurs once commvault has taken the initial snapshot in VMware and goes to mount it for copy to storage.

In the configuration we use a dedicated server ESXSERVER-A for the snapshot which it does. When commvault then mounts the snapshots to copy it uses random servers in the environment Lets call them ESXSERVER-B and ESXSERVER-C.

After the job completes it would appear that Commvault is having issues with Clean up of the Snapshots.

Questions:

  1. Why is commvault not using the specified ESX host to manage and mount the snaps after the initial snap?
  2. Is there a way to control this in additional settings?

Hello @Paul M
This is a complicated issue that has to takes a large amount of environmental configuration into account.

I would recommend raising a support case so that a support agent can review your configuration and figure out why you are seeing these hosts being used.

Kind regards
