Hi,

We are going to setup HyperScale X to our customer. As you know they need to create DNS records. Customer said they will do DNS records but they have a question for Active Directory integration. They are using IDM server for adding Linux servers to Windows AD. Question is;

Is it possible to add HyperScale X nodes to AD with IDM?

I asked this to Commvault chat. Answer is;

“So at the moment Hyperscale is not able to join Active Directory. Development has a process for Hyperscale 1.5 to use LDAP to authenticate with Active Directory, but not HSX yet.”

I found this thread, are there any news here? It would be great if we could add our hyperscale X nodes in AD.

Yes, you can join HSX nodes to AD starting in 11.32.28+.

Maintenance Release 11.32.28 (Nov 07, 2023)
https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/files/service_pack/updates/11_32_28.htm

- Upgrade the HSX nodes to 11.32.28 (or later)
- After MR update, download and apply HSX OS updates
- Use realm to add the HSX nodes into AD (e.g., instructions)

Note:  AD integration is not currently supported with Restricted Root configuration.

Thanks,
Scott
