Hello team

Have a question about HSX RA disks for Boot and Metadata

For boot i saw reccomendations Create a RAID1 volume, but

for MetaData i didn’t see anything, jus 2 dedicated NVME\SSD disks

I’m trying find some info see below

for Cache (CVFS/Hedvig) as i understand we use EC 4+2, so for this disk we doesnt need a RAID1 - yes or no?

for Logs (Index cache/DDB) can we used RAID for this disks or its just dedicated NVME\SSD?

and one more question whats happening if a metadata disks will go offlain or crushed in one or more nodes?

Hi @Dmitriy

For OS disk, RAID 1 can be configured.

For metadata, two disks are needed i.e. CvFS and CV(Index and DDB) in non-RAID

Data disks will be in non-RAID.

Let us know in case of any queries.

Regards,

Hi,

EC 4+2 for Data disk not for metadisk and you follow @R Anwar response for standard disk configuration.

We need standalone disk for meta data as DDB/Index can be rebuild/restored incase of anything goes wrong, so we not required disk level HA.

Hello Team,

just a question about your suggestion “standalone disk”, very interesting;

with a disk ddb/ic size of 6T, do i need the same disk size in case of fault ? what happens if my standalone disk isn’t large enough ? could i use also other disks like data disk maybe ?

regards
