Dear Team,

We are planning to reconfigure the Hyperscale 1.5 with a six-node cluster disk library. During the process, one of the nodes went down due to a system board issue and we are working with Hardware vendor. We would like to know if it's possible to enable backups without the failed node, and later add it back to the same cluster. Will adding the node at a later stage have any impact on the cluster's performance or stability.

Regards,

Mani D

It depends at what stage did the node go down during the expansion…
If the expansion was successful, then the cluster can withstand a node down and backup/restore operations will remain functional.

However if the server failed during the upgrade, the volume is most likely to be offline, it will need to be worked with a customer support engineer to assist.

Please also review the following documentation, to ensure the server has not reached its end of life.

Thank you
