Hello Team,

One of our requirement is that the current commvault is running hyperscale environment and Commserve also running on hyperscale.

Now the hardware want to refresh it, so we are planning to go new hyperscale with new commserve or will migrate existing commserve with all backup data and existing policies.

Please advise how to approach this migration.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Anandha K

To move the CommServe to the new Hyperscale you can do a standard CommServe Hardware refresh.

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/4739_commserve_hardware_refresh_overview.html

To move the data you can run a workflow which sets up the aux copy and promotes the new HSX to be the Primary copy.

Thank you,

Collin

Hello @Collin Harper,

Thanks for your update.

The new commserve will try to create on new hyperscale environment. In this case we will go for new Commvault version.

The current Commvault version is running on 11.24, If we will configure new hyperscale with commserve will use the same version or new latest version then will try to restore disaster recovery backup.

Please advise.
